MARKET UPDATE |Saham ASIndeks NasdaqS & P 500DOW JONES
Major U.S. stock-market benchmarks rose to records on Monday as investors remained attuned to developments in the U.S.-China trade relationship and cheered a wave of merger activity.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 151 points, or 0.5%, to 28,026, surpassing the previous closing high of 28,036.22 set on Nov. 18. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 102 points, or 1.2%, to 8,622, while the S&P 500 rose 21 points, or 0.7%, to 3,131, pushing above its last closing high of 8.570.66 set on Nov. 19. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq also exceeded their previous intraday records from last week.
Stocks ended with gains Friday but posted a losing week. The Dow saw a 0.5% weekly decline to end at 27,875.62, while the S&P 500 saw a 0.3% weekly decline to 3,110.29 ” ending a six-week run of weekly gains. The Nasdaq Composite saw a weekly fall of 0.3%, finishing Friday at 8,519.88.
