Tokyo stocks closed higher for a fourth straight session on Friday, extending rallies on Wall Street on hopes of a China-US trade deal.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.26 percent or 61.55 points to end at 23,391.87, while the broader Topix index was up 0.27 percent or 4.64 points at 1,702.77.
