U.S. Stocks Edge Higher as U.S.-China Trade Talks Get Under Way

U.S. stocks opened mostly lower but then edged into positive territory in early trade Thursday as top U.S. and Chinese trade negotiators began their latest round of talks following a flurry of conflicting news reports over the scope for progress in the discussions.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 11 points at 26,357, while the S&P 500 rose 1.4 points to 2,921.
The Nasdaq Composite gained 6 points, or 0.1%, to trade at 7,910.
