Stocks End Lower After Report White House is Weighing Limits on Investment in China

U.S. stocks ended lower Friday after news reports said the Trump administration was weighing proposals to halt U.S. portfolio flows into China and to delist Chinese firms from U.S. exchanges. Such moves would alter investment flows and escalate trade tensions between the U.S. and China.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell around 71 points, or 0.3%, to end near 26,820, according to preliminary figures, while the S&P 500 shed around 16 points, or 0.5%, to close near 2,962. The Nasdaq Composite finished near 7,940, a fall of around 91 points, or 1.1%. The Dow saw a 0.4% weekly fall, while the S&P 500 logged a 1% decline. The Nasdaq saw a 2.2% fall.
