Tokyo stocks open lower as trade worries resurface

Tokyo stocks opened lower on Tuesday, tracking losses in global markets as investors fret over the latest flare-up in the China-US trade war.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.42 percent, or 88.50 points, at 21,213.23 in early trade, while the Topix index was down 0.44 percent, or 6.84 points, at 1,548.08.

U.S. stocks opened little changed Tuesday as investors awaited remarks by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 13 points, or less than 0.1%, to 26,740, while the S&P 500 was down less than a point at 2,944. The Nasdaq Composite was off 0.1% at 7,997.

U.S. stock index futures were lower Tuesday morning, amid expectations of more dovish talk from the Federal Reserve.
At around 04:50 a.m. ET, Dow futures slipped 17 points, indicating a positive open of more than 9 points. Futures on the S&P and Nasdaq were both seen slightly lower.
