U.S. stock markets were set to open lower on Thursday, after weak European data and reports of a new North Korean weapons test challenged assumptions that the macro backdrop is changing for the better.
At 06:45 AM ET (10:45 GMT), the benchmark S&P 500 futures contract was down 1.6 points, or 0.1%, while the Dow futures contract was down 42 points, or 0.2% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 futures down 5.4 points, or 0.1%.
