Hong Kong shares open 0.23 percent lower

Hong Kong stocks edged down in the opening minutes of Monday with business thin ahead of the three-day Lunar New Year break.

The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.23 percent, or 64.81 points, to 27,865.93.

Shanghai is closed for the week.
