Hong Kong stocks enjoy further gains

Hong Kong and Shanghai stocks enjoyed another day of gains Monday, tracking a surge on Wall Street, as investors cheered easing measures by the Chinese central bank and China-US trade talks got underway.

The Hang Seng Index rose 0.82 percent, or 209.67 points, to close at 25,835.70, building on Friday's gains of more than two percent.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 0.72 percent, or 18.22 points, to 2,533.09, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 1.71 percent, or 21.92 points, to 1,301.41.
