MARKET UPDATE |The Shanghai Composite IndexSaham Cina CSI 300Shanghai composite
China's Shanghai Composite Index closed down with Kweichow Moutai Co. contributed the most to the index decline, decreasing 10.0 percent. Shanghai Greencourt Investment Group Co. had the largest drop, falling 10.1 percent.
The Shanghai Composite Index fell for the second day, dropping 2.2 percent, or 56.74 to 2,542.10 in Shanghai. The index dropped to the lowest closing level since Oct. 18.
Today, 1187 of 1486 shares fell, while 251 rose; all sectors were lower, led by industrial stocks.
CSI 300 Index dropped 3 percent to 3,076.89 at close.
The Chinese yuan weakened against the U.S. dollar to 6.9568 from 6.9435. The benchmark 10-year bond was little changed at 3.520 percent.
The MSCI AC Asia Pacific Index declined 0.2 percent.
