China has accused the United States of being involved in blatant economic terrorism in a fierce trade war between the two countries.
Deputy Foreign Minister Zhang Hanhui conveyed his decision on Thursday (30/5), in Beijing, at a press conference regarding President Xi Jinping's official visit to Russia next week.
Beijing and Washington have been involved in the trade war since last July, after President Donald Trump first imposed tariffs on Chinese products. The two Presidents agreed to complete the trade last December when they began negotiations to reach a long-standing trade agreement.
But then Trump has recently increased taxes on Chinese products adding 200 billion dollars after accusing Beijing of not fulfilling its promise to make structural changes in its economic practices.
Zhang said, China does not want a trade war, but is not afraid to face it. He praised the actions of the Trump administration
Beijing counter Trump's actions by announcing a 60 billion dollar increase in tariffs on US export products starting June 1.
