Australia Core Inflation Remains Stuck in Slow Lane

Australia core inflation remained sluggish in the three months through September, underscoring the central bank™s challenge to reignite prices in the economy.

The trimmed-mean gauge, a key core measure, gained 0.4% from the prior quarter and 1.6% from a year earlier, matching economists estimates.

Headline inflation rose 0.5% in the third quarter from three months earlier and 1.7% from a year earlier, also meeting forecasts.
