China's Jan PPI up 0.1 pct y/y, CPI up 1.7 pct y/y

China's producer price index (PPI) rose 0.1 percent year-on-year in January, the weakest pace since September 2016 and slowing from the previous month's 0.9 percent increase, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Friday.

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected producer inflation would cool to 0.2 percent.

The consumer price index (CPI) rose 1.7 percent in January from a year earlier, slower than the 1.9 percent increase in December and below market expectations for a 1.9 percent rise.
